Audit Logs are an extensive capture of events that take place within your SoftLedger system. On this tab, you can search, view, and export a history of all actions performed on the system. Access audit logs under the Admin menu:

Columns in Table

  • Date - Date and timestamp of the action performed

  • Type - The type of user who created it. Possible values are:

-User - someone made this action in User Interface
-System Job - someone made this action in bulk excel upload
-API - someone made this action via the API
  • User - The user who performed the action, if it was an API action, the name of the API client will be present. If it was a system job, the system job number will show with a link to its details.

  • ID - The SoftLedger internal object identifier

  • Message - Brief description of the action performed

Note: To track the lifetime journey of an object, you can Filter on an Internal ID to see the different actions for that object. For example, you can filter on an internal ID for a Journal to see the Journal Creation, Journal Update, and Journal Posting logs.

Click into the blue highlight text in the Type column to review a copy of the object at the time of the log being recorder. For example, see a Journal that was created below from clicking into "JOURNAL":

Export to Excel

You can export the audit logs to excel by clicking the Export button at top of table. It is recommended to filter the data that you are looking for before exporting, as audit logs can quickly become quite extensive the more you use the system.
