SoftLedger Tenants

Tenant corresponds with a separate SoftLedger company account. Companies that are distinctly separate, where data such as customer lists should be not shared at all with other companies, belong in their own Tenant.

SoftLedger Locations

If a company is a piece of a consolidated organization and reporting is required at a level above that company, it most likely makes more sense to treat it as a Location. Locations are typically synonymous with entities within a Tenant and are also journal entry level fields, every journal entry is linked to a Location.

General Ledger Dimensions

In addition to Locations, SoftLedger includes journal line level general ledger dimensions:

  • Ledger accounts

  • Cost centers

  • Products

  • Jobs

  • Custom Dimensions (up to 3)
