Crypto Integrations Overview

This article is your starting point for SoftLedger's crypto integrations. Use it to find the right partner integration for syncing your cryptocurrency activity into SoftLedger.

Written by Travis Lander

Description

SoftLedger connects with leading digital asset platforms so you can sync cryptocurrency transactions directly into your general ledger—eliminating manual data entry and keeping your books audit-ready. This overview describes each available integration and links to the detailed setup guide for the one you use. SoftLedger currently offers integrations with NODE40, Kryptos, and Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator).

Each integration imports your crypto activity from your connected sources (exchanges, wallets, and on-chain addresses), but they work differently in how that activity lands in SoftLedger. NODE40 creates native SoftLedger crypto transactions, while Kryptos and Summ currently create journal entries. Review the setup guide for your chosen integration to understand exactly how its data is recorded.

Available Integrations

NODE40

NODE40 collects and organizes cryptocurrency transaction data from your exchanges and wallets, then syncs it into SoftLedger for accurate, efficient accounting. The integration uses NODE40 API keys to pull activity per profile and source into matching SoftLedger wallets, with full transaction, coin, and metadata mapping back to NODE40 for traceability.

Best for: Teams already managing crypto sources and reconciliation in NODE40 who want to push organized transaction data into SoftLedger.

Kryptos

Kryptos automates the entire flow from blockchain transactions to your general ledger. After a secure OAuth connection (about 5 minutes), Kryptos syncs crypto transactions as properly formatted journal entries with a complete audit trail, supports lot-level cost basis tracking (FIFO, LIFO, HIFO, ACB, Shared Pool), continuous mark-to-market fair value, automated realized and unrealized gain/loss, and multi-entity consolidation.

Best for: Web3 businesses that want automated journal entries, real-time fair value, and audit-ready documentation across multiple entities and cost basis methods.

Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator)

Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator) integrates with SoftLedger to bring your crypto transaction data into your books. The walkthrough below shows how to set up and use the integration.

Best for: Teams using Summ to categorize and reconcile crypto activity who want that data synced into SoftLedger.

Which Integration Should I Use?

Choose the integration that matches the platform you already use to track your crypto sources:

  • Use NODE40 if your exchanges, wallets, and transaction data are organized in NODE40.

  • Use Kryptos if you want automated journal entries, multi-entity consolidation, and lot-level cost basis tracking via a direct OAuth connection.

  • Use Summ if you manage and categorize your crypto activity in Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator).

If you are not sure which is right for you, contact SoftLedger Support and we can help you decide.

Prerequisites

Regardless of which integration you choose, you will generally need:

  • Active accounts with SoftLedger and the integration partner.

  • Cryptocurrency sources (exchanges, wallets, or addresses) added in the partner platform.

  • A SoftLedger wallet set up to receive each source's transactions (you can create wallets during setup).

  • Administrative access to manage integrations and generate API keys or authorize OAuth in both platforms.

See the individual setup guides above for the exact prerequisites and steps for each integration.

Troubleshooting

If issues arise during setup or syncing:

  • Verify credentials: Confirm API keys or OAuth connections are valid and have the required permissions.

  • Check integration setup: Ensure the correct profile, sources, and SoftLedger wallets are selected and enabled.

  • Review errors: Examine error messages in the "Runs" section of the integration page and follow any guidance provided.

  • Service status: Confirm that both SoftLedger and the integration partner's services are operational.
