SoftLedger’s journey began when co-founder Ben Taylor, a CPA working in a public company’s accounting department, experienced firsthand the gap between modern business software and the clunky tools available to accountants. While sales, marketing, and software engineering teams leveraged sleek, innovative platforms that boosted their productivity, accountants were left using outdated systems that required constant workarounds and external consultants.
Determined to disrupt this imbalance, Ben envisioned a cloud-based solution that would empower accountants rather than hold them back. He saw an opportunity to transform the month-end close from a tedious, prolonged process into a streamlined, real-time experience. Ben believed that by automating routine tasks, accountants could transition from mere number crunchers to strategic advisors, driving more value within their organizations.
To make this vision a reality, Ben convinced his longtime friend and experienced systems architect, Geoff Ostrega, to join him. United by their shared frustration with the status quo, they harnessed the latest cloud architecture to create SoftLedger — a platform designed specifically for accountants. SoftLedger not only simplifies complex financial processes but also integrates seamlessly with various modern business applications, ensuring that financial data flows effortlessly across departments.
Today, SoftLedger supports more than 1,000 organizations globally, continuing its mission to provide software to empower finance and accounting teams to deliver consolidated financials in real-time.
