Coins as Digital Assets Demo - Step-by-Step Transcript
Step 1
Manage your Digital Assets in the Crypto Coins Module
This guided demo will navigate through the high level components of the Coins section of the Crypto Module for handling Digital Assets.
Step 2
Add a new Coin as a requirement to record activity in the Crypto module.
Step 3
Coins are required to create Transactions in the Crypto module, and can be created in any Symbol/Name format desired, along with being tracked against a Rate Coin to be able to take advantage of our automatic pricing for Open rates. Additionally, custom fields (e.g. Asset Type) can be created and added for more contextual information if desired. Each Coin creates four distinct Ledger Accounts to be used in the Journal Entries produced from any Transaction involving this Coin. This set up allows for the creation of custom Coins (e.g. internal treasury coin vs. customer custodied coin) or fiat representation Coins as well.
Step 4
The Coins table serves as a treasury management function. In this table, review the holdings for each asset by quantity and cost basis, and determine the market value and any unrealized gain/loss per asset.
Step 5
Adjust the date input in the System Date Picker at top right, or the Location selected in the Location Picker at top left to adjust the data in the Coins table of this page. This allows for varying views of holdings based on time period and entity configurations.
Step 6
Clicking on the name of any Coin created from the main Coins table can open a detailed view for comparisons of holdings by SoftLedger Wallet, and review of the Coin Ledger Accounts, or a full Transactions page view of any transaction involving this Coin.
